Today’s designers often fall into a kind of question when they finish their design works, that is, what is the value of my design and what is the future design. I wrote this blog post after reading the readings, and maybe there are some answers.
Design originates from traditional handicrafts. The original purpose of design is to create exquisite handicrafts. In the past, we have made many interesting works with our excellent creativity. However, with the development of the times and the progress of science, the original design methods and education models are no longer applicable to the modern society. Designers need to use design more to help users solve problems and improve people’s quality of life.
Design is a way of thinking, and I think the most important point of design thinking should be people-oriented. Especially in the rapid development of computer technology today, the communication between the user and the system is more and more frequent. The designer’s goal is to think about how to make such communication more simple and efficient. Therefore, the value of design is to put people first, improve the user experience and simplify the tedious communication, whether the experience is visual or logical.
As for design and future design, I think the future of the design industry is broad, as long as you are interested in any aspect of the design field, then you are working in the right direction.
